The Disaster Artist
Answering the Call
The Disaster Artist is a movie about the making of one of the best/worst movies of all time, The Room. To promote the theatrical release of The Disaster Artist, we capitalized on the knowledge of cult-film lovers living in Los Angeles. We recreated the original billboard for The Room, right down to its location overlooking Highland Avenue in Hollywood. Only this time, the phone number on the billboard was a direct line to the director and star of The Disaster Artist, James Franco, who answered in-character. The stunt generated 3.4 billion impressions worldwide.
