You could say that Walt was raised a strategist. The son of a preacher, he has learned how to listen, and speak, deliberately. “I’ve been told I have ’The Power of the Pause,’” he says. “So I guess I can thank my dad for that.” And we’re glad he does. Today, Walt oversees creative strategy, research and analytics for the agency.

His job: to strengthen and enhance collaboration between strategy and creative. His dream: ”That creatives brag about McKinney’s strategy team to their peers at other agencies,” says Walt. His out-of-office message: always unexpected and sometimes outrageous. ”I want to know who actually reads those, because if they do, they respond. It’s a test!” You could say it’s also a strategy.
