McKinney at NC Media & Journalism HOF Gala
On Friday, McKinney took part in the 2021 NC Media & Journalism Hall of Fame Gala as one of the sponsors and with our Director of Agency Communications Janet Northen serving as co-chair for the event. The evening’s festivities benefited the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media.
The virtual event saw the induction of five 2021 honorees: Garden & Gun founder and CEO Rebecca Darwin; sportswriter and broadcaster Peter Gammons; New York Times Magazine Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Nicole Hannah-Jones; Medtronic SVP & Chief Communications Officer Torod Neptune; and PBS NewsHour managing editor and anchor Judy Woodruff.
Rochelle Riley, director of arts and culture for the city of Detroit — a 2019 NC Hall of Fame inductee and 1981 Hussman School graduate — served as the evening’s master of ceremonies.
“It was such an honor to serve as co-chair of this year’s festivities,” said Northen. “McKinney is a proud supporter of the Hussman School and its commitment to inspire and advance young people in media and journalism careers.”
