Maintaining our focus on the women of McKinney
As we head into Women’s History Month and continue to monitor the progress being made in the ongoing pandemic health crisis, here’s a look at the steps McKinney has taken to support its female employees as they navigate work/life balance in the time of COVID.
In addition to unlimited PTO and 16 weeks of paid parental leave already in place, since the onset of the COVID pandemic, the agency has instituted a thriving mentorship program, with 17 woman-to-woman pairs (20% of the agency population) engaging with each other for one-to-one support. Additionally, we opened up a new, and very active, McKinney Slack channel for mothers, where employees share articles and advice on products and exchange ideas on how to manage the work/life blend. And, to further address the stress of returning from parental leave, McKinney works with parents and their managers on easing back into work life with “Never on a Monday,” a four-day-a-week schedule available to employees for a limited time upon their return.
