Leadership in a Pandemic: Joe Maglio featured in Velocitize
In a recent Velocitize article, “Safe, Sane and Healthy: Leadership in a Pandemic,” McKinney CEO Joe Maglio discussed his thinking as he spurs McKinney to action in the midst of the pandemic while making sure everyone at his agency remains safe, sane, and healthy.
In the article by Sally-Ann O’Dowd, Maglio explained his approach to surmounting the pandemic-related challenges McKinney (and the world) faces: from the suite of remote meeting tools we’ve come to love, hate and rely on to even something as simple as a chatbot on the agency’s intranet site that answers Covid-19–related questions. Maglio’s also insisting the agency make strides in diversity, equity and inclusion — from McKinney’s ongoing response to 600 & Rising’s industry-wide #CommitToChange movement to hiring a Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by year’s end.
Maglio also touched on the fact that McKinney maintained its commitment to its summer internship program, onboarding 17 Mterns that included a team who developed work for an upcoming Little Caesars campaign — and subsequently hiring two Mterns to full-time positions.
