McKinney’s new recruiting manager is the virtual real deal
Kristin Martin joined McKinney during strange days indeed — just before everything went sideways due to Covid-19. But odd timing has been good timing, especially for McKinney as Martin has helped virtually onboard over 30 new hires across our three offices, keeping the hiring pipeline full as the agency’s growth continues.
Martin’s experience and sensibility is a perfect mix for her new role here. Earlier in her career, she was an art director before shifting gears and landing at The Creative Circus in Atlanta as director of placement, where she helped launch many industry careers. Now, instead of pushing creative fledglings out of the nest, she is reeling in talent for McKinney.
“It has been amazing to join McKinney, an agency whose work I’ve admired since starting off as an art director in the industry 20 years ago,” said Martin. “Now, I have the honor of recruiting people to an agency where they will undoubtedly do the best work of their careers.”
In short order, Martin has developed both an understanding of and respect for McKinney’s culture and talent standards as she utilizes her peer-to-peer relationships and connections across portfolio schools. And arriving here before the pandemic’s impact proved invaluable in helping her adjust to the new virtual reality.
“I was fortunate to establish relationships while I was inside the agency’s doors that have now carried over to Zoom meetings. This gave me a crucial understanding of what McKinney’s all about,” said Martin. “Walking in the door at McKinney, it was like my vision of a dream agency had come to life. And did I mention we’re a dog-friendly workplace?”
