Joe Maglio: “Optimists will always win”
Recently, CEO Joe Maglio joined Barry Frey, CEO of DPAA Global (Digital Place Based Advertising Association), for a session of DPAA Short Connects.
During his time with Frey, Maglio discussed McKinney’s Spread More Good initiative, his leadership during the COVID pandemic as well as the measures the agency put in place to virtually replicate hallway conversations and pub gatherings. And why he believes the challenges we’re facing during this time — if tackled strategically — have the potential to create big opportunities not just for McKinney but for brands, too. And, understandably, Frey and Maglio discussed the world of OOH.
“I think out of home is one of the most underleveraged media opportunities that there is,” said Maglio. “I think we’re going to see a resurgence — once we’re all literally out of our houses — in what out of home can do, particularly digital out of home. And I really think it’s a great medium to move people, not just to sell product but to create an emotional tie.”
