Joe Maglio in Ad Age: Canceling Cannes Lions a missed opportunity
McKinney CEO Joe Maglio wrote in Ad Age on why it was a mistake to shut down this year’s Cannes Lions Festival altogether.
While he believes “the only thing that actually matters right now is people’s health and safety amidst the global pandemic,” Maglio went on to say, “Instead of canceling the awards, I wish the Cannes Lions organizers had moved the judging to a purely online process. A virtual awards show could have been, in and of itself, a demonstration of creativity.”
