NCCU Marketing Challenge at McKinney
On Thursday, the North Carolina Central University Marketing Challenge final presentations and judging returned to McKinney. Once again, the Central students were tasked with developing a two-week promotion behind a company and product they conceived as part of their classwork.
The students presented great ideas and the strategic thinking behind them — including media buys, activations, and the use of social influencers — to a panel of McKinney judges. The ideas ranged from an outside-the-pouch idea for the fanny pack to color-coded for a cause AirPods to putting phones in the hands of folks that need them.
In the end, it was unanimous: Carnival Costumes by BAAKT, Inc., with their big idea of costuming attendees of the CaribMask Carnival, was the winner. Their one-of-a-kind costumes took home the glory — and the $100 gift cards. Well done!
