Veteran CD and copywriter wants to raise bar even higher for ideation and experimentation

Durham, NC October 30, 2015 — McKinney announced today that Liz Paradise has been promoted from group creative director to executive creative director. In her new role, Paradise will continue leading the creative on the Nationwide Insurance account and steer the agency toward new creative opportunities.

“Liz is one of the most kick-ass creative leaders in the business,” said Jonathan Cude, chief creative officer. “I am regularly impressed with her ability to lead the creative process in a way that delivers smart solutions to complex business problems. As ECD, and as someone who has spent her career mentoring, Liz will also be able to build agencywide initiatives motivating creatives to continue to do the best work of their lives.”

Paradise is looking forward to furthering the agency’s partnership with Nationwide, in addition to working on all other accounts with McKinney’s creative teams and putting practices in place to highly motivate them. “I want to keep the energy up so that people are pumped to do great work day in and day out,” she said. “Part of that is finding ways to mix it up — to work more nimbly, try new approaches to ideation and experiment with team structure.”

With more than two decades as an award-winning copywriter and creative director at McKinney, Liz has been honored by the industry’s top shows for clients including Karastan, Audi, Polaris and EAS. She has judged Cannes, the One Show and Art Directors Club award shows, and has spoken at the 3% Conference. In early 2015, she led the team behind Nationwide’s Super Bowl spot with Mindy Kaling, which was No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s list of the best Super Bowl commercials.
