Beercade wins the first-ever international Design for Experience Award

The combination of cold, tap-fresh Big Boss beer and an old-school arcade game featuring “The Last Barfighter” continues to impress. The beercade has won one of 24 inaugural Design for Experience (DfE) Awards in the Interactive Component of an Advertising Campaign category. This international awards program, operated in partnership with UX Magazine, recognizes people, teams, and companies that have achieved success in the design of user- and customer-centered products or services. Other agency winners include DDB & Tribal Worldwide, Amsterdam and SapientNitro, and we are in good non-agency company with the likes of Luminosity and Citrix.

McKinney’s beercade DfE case study will be shared in UX Magazine, which will also turn the agency’s award entry into an article that explores the beercade’s unique success and how we pulled it off with our client, Big Boss Brewing. All award winners also receive a permanent page on the DfE Awards site.

All award winners were announced today at UX Magazine, where McKinney Director of Experience Design Jordan Clayton’s article Embracing the UX Spectrum was published in 2013.
