Liz Paradise to judge One Show - McKinney

Liz Paradise to judge One Show

January 3, 2014

While McKinney is preparing our own One Show entries this month, Group Creative Director Liz Paradise is preparing to review those of other agencies as a member of the 2014 One Show jury. In a December press release, The One Club named all 31 jury members and unveiled their more finely tuned judging process, including a dedicated, nine-member print jury. “Increasing the number of jurors was important to ensure that judges would review work that fell squarely within their specific field of expertise,” said Kevin Swanepoel, president of The One Club.

The One Club made a few changes to the award show this year. New categories were added, including Craft and Design for the Greater Good. Agencies can also win a Green Pencil in 2014 for campaigns with environmentally themed advertising, with a portion of all Green Pencil entry fees going toward the winning entry’s cause or nonprofit. And the Innovation category will be divided into four subcategories: print, radio, outdoor and video.

“We’ve streamlined categories to reflect changes in our industry, and to support creative talent working today,” said Mary Warlick, CEO of The One Club in a press release. “Agencies are doing much more than producing ads for clients. We are adapting The One Show to reflect that partnership. As with everything we do, the focus is on creative thinking.”

In March, Liz will meet other jury members in Santa Barbara to carefully consider all One Show entries and determine which are worth winning the coveted Pencils, the industry’s most prestigious awards celebrating the year’s best in advertising.

Liz judged the Art Directors Club awards in 2013.
