Walt Barron gets strategic at Duke
On October 8, McKinney’s head of Account Planning, Walt Barron, presented “Duke, McKinney and Account Planning” to a marketing communications class taught by Professor Martha Reeves.
Walt talked creative strategy with 40 students, discussing strategic planning in agencies and its role in helping McKinney create talked-about work.
“Every time I speak with students like the those I met at Duke, I’m reminded of how much smarter and more prepared they are than I was at their age,” said Walt. “I sort of fell into advertising as a second career several years after graduating, so it’s pretty cool to introduce so many talented, eager and diverse students to a new career option while they’re still enjoying their college experience.”
“Walt was great,” said Professor Reeves. “He relates well to students and provided lots of insight about what makes a marketing campaign successful. He is welcome back at Duke anytime!”
