Scott Voege talks creativity with UNC MBA students

July 10, 2013

Scott Voege, a McKinney account director on Nationwide Insurance, was a guest lecturer at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business earlier this month visiting Professor Mark McNeilly’s executive MBA course on branding. Students were given a peek into agency life and the role creativity plays at McKinney through Scott’s presentation, “Creativity in Advertising: More Than Just Pretty Pictures.”

“The class was engaged and very curious about how we tell stories that move business and shape culture,” said Scott. “We explored the concept that creativity is inherent in all of us and can solve almost any problem.” He used the insurance category as an example. “While insurance companies often sell the same product, it’s their unique use of creativity that distinguishes one from the other. That’s the vital role we play on behalf of our clients. The creative act, the defeat of habit by originality, overcomes everything.”
