Brad Brinegar to chair 2013 IAB MIXX Awards jury
A leader of digital pioneering efforts in advertising, McKinney CEO Brad Brinegar will serve as the Judging Panel Chair for the 2013 IAB MIXX Awards. The jury, made up of 31 cross-industry agency creatives, marketers and major media company leaders, will decide entrants take home one of the most prestigious awards in digital advertising.
“I’ve been involved with the IAB MIXX Awards for several years, and I could not hold them in higher regard,” said Brad. “I’m always amazed by the campaigns singled out at the awards, because they represent a cross-section of the best creative from the rapidly changing world of digital advertising. I look forward to working with such a distinguished set of colleagues to review, debate and ultimately award the most outstanding and effective digital advertising work from the past year.”
This year, entrants can choose from seven new categories, several of which embrace innovative marketing opportunities. One of the new categories, “Can’t Be Contained!,” is designed for campaigns that push boundaries and point to the future of digital advertising. In a Business Insider article last week, Brad calls this category “the most interesting.” “I hope that we will see ideas that literally change our perception of the boundaries among advertising, product design and brand behaviors. In every category I want to see what hasn’t been done before — as well as what has never been done as well.”
The IAB MIXX Awards is recognized as the benchmark for best-in-class work that inspires and educates the marketplace about the power to build brands digitally. Finalists and winners are honored yearly at a gala, which is the culmination of a two-day conference and expo during Advertising Week in New York City. This year’s gala, the IAB’s ninth, will be held September 24.
