McKinney introduces class of 2008 summer interns

July 30, 2008

They’re 13 strong from five countries on four continents. The majority is minority (two African American, two Asian and four Hispanic). Enrolled at nine different universities in nine different graduate and undergraduate programs, they are world travelers, fusion dancers, slow food cookers, kitten adopters and they are here to see how quickly they can make a difference.

They’re Durham-based ad agency McKinney’s summer interns.

“This class of interns is the largest and most diverse group we’ve ever enjoyed at the agency, and they’re a talented bunch with a great range of interests and experiences,” said McKinney Chairman and CEO Brad Brinegar. “McKinney’s internship program has always been structured to give students the opportunity not only to learn about the business but to contribute to our clients’ success. They get plenty of support, but we throw them right into it and see who rises to the occasion. That’s one of the reasons why nine of our prior interns have earned full-time jobs at McKinney after graduation. We expect the extraordinary diversity of this group to bring fresh perspective to their work.”
