February 28, 2007

Leading wireless youth network Virgin Mobile USA announced today it has selected Durham, North Carolina-based McKinney as its new advertising agency, managing an account valued at more than $30 million. The agency is recognized for leading the industry in integrated marketing communications and crafting rich conversations to engage consumers in building clients’ brands.

“McKinney best demonstrated they understand the Virgin Mobile brand and how to build on our current momentum and we’re excited to have them as our partners,” said Howard Handler, chief marketing officer for Virgin Mobile USA. The wireless company recently announced it has more than 4.6 million customers.

“Virgin Mobile USA will continue to carve out new and interesting territory in the youth wireless space,” said McKinney President Jeff Jones. “We are thrilled to be chosen as their new partners and will do all we can to create powerful ideas and insightful strategies as fresh and innovative as Virgin Mobile itself.”

The award-winning agency has created some of the most innovatively integrated marketing communications programs, including Audi of America’s Art of the Heist, Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome, the Polaris CEO Duel and the launch of the Sony Bravia LCD TV. Virgin Mobile USA joins such clients as Brown-Forman Industries’ Southern Comfort, The NASDAQ Stock Market, Qwest Communications and Select Comfort.

The appointment is subject to reaching final terms regarding the engagement of the agency.
