McKinney's first effort for Virgin Atlantic Airways, “Love from Above,” launched February 1st with a 2-week experiential launch in New York City and Chicago, culminating on Valentine’s Day.  In signature Virgin style, London landmarks mysteriously appeared in both cities, inviting consumers to learn more about Love from Above. 

Throughout the 14 days, consumers were invited to learn about events by visiting a mobile WAP site, http://LoveFromAbove.mobi, which could be accessed from any mobile device with a browser. Consumers could experience complimentary taxi rides in wrapped London cabs throughout both cities. These passengers were encouraged to stretch their legs as they learned about Virgin Atlantic’s recently unveiled Premium Economy cabin, which offers seven more inches of legroom. “Love from Above” also landed at various English pubs throughout both cities, offering samples of British cuisine while consumers enjoyed a classic British pub quiz.

The two-week campaign ended on Valentine’s Day, as Virgin Atlantic flight attendants in both cities handed out cards and roses to those businesspeople who might not have had time to pick something out for their special valentine.
