With four shortlisted entries, three for Samsung and one for Sherwin-Williams, McKinney is looking forward to this year’s IAB MIXX Awards

“Samsung 4D VR Thrill Ride”

Thousands of people waited in line for as much as an hour at CES — the Super Bowl of technology —to “climb on” a virtual-reality roller coaster in an amusement park environment constructed on the convention floor. The only group-synced VR experience of the event, the demonstration of the mind-blowing Samsung Gear VR headsets was the smash hit of the convention. 

“A Colorful Search”

Sherwin-Williams partnered with home design site Apartment Therapy to give DIYers a new way to discover color inspiration. How? With Color Search, a tool that answers the question, “What color is that?” by allowing users to search room photos by color, then providing a specific Sherwin-Williams paint-color match for every room photo in the Apartment Therapy database. Simply browse the site, and voilà, inspiration is served.

The Samsung work was shortlisted in the Live Experience Integration, Physical-Digital Integration, and Virtual and Augmented Reality categories. 
Sherwin-Williams was shortlisted in the Branded Utility category.
