McKinney Associate Creative Director Kathy Jerrett Gives Meredith College Seniors a Send-OffMcKinney and Associate Creative Director Kathy Jerrett hosted Meredith College's American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) chapter to a "Senior Send-Off" at the agency. Over 20 students and two faculty members took a tour of McKinney that followed with a presentation from Kathy about careers in graphic design.
"Being seniors, I thought they would be interested in my career development, so I took them through key moments from student to where I am now," said Kathy, a ten-year McKinney veteran who's worked on many of the agency's most honored campaigns for clients, including Brown-Forman, Audi, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines. "I also tried to meld real world experience such as collaboration among teams, team building and client presentations into the discussion about design."
Kathy closed with a review of McKinney's new Flash web site, mckinney.com, that demonstrated the broad range of digital talent at the agency.
Students were not the only ones who left McKinney with a new appreciation for career opportunities in design. Both faculty members said Kathy presented all the points they have been reiterating to their students all year. One even said, "Did you script this?"
