On Saturday, the American Tobacco Campus and McKinney will host the "Glamabellum Ball," an event designed to generate support for this year's Triangle Corporate Battle of the Bands.
This will be the ball's inaugural year. McKinney, the advertising agency hosting the ball, came up with the "glamabellum" theme by mixing antebellum with rock and roll.
"The Glamabellum Ball was an idea we came up with for the Durham community," said McKinney COO Joni Madison. "We wanted a summer event. We wanted to make sure that people came out and were introduced to our charity."
The ball will be held on Saturday, at the American Tobacco Campus, 318 Blackwell St. Admission is free, but there will be opportunities to donate to the charity that the ball and the Battle of the Bands benefit, North Carolina Arts in Action.
