The ideal candidate will:

Build strong, trusting relationships that go beyond social and build hunger for bold, untested ideas
Ensure that the resources of the Agency are deployed with continued maximum effectiveness in the interest of assigned accounts
Maintain active liaisons with middle and/or Senior Client Management. When appropriate, involves top Agency management in individual client business.
Keep well-informed on all accounts’ activities, thus anticipating trouble (internal or external) or client dissatisfaction and takes steps to remedy any such situation
Own the Account Plan, working with the GAD to ensure it is the most up-to-date account of the brand at any point in time.
Stay concerned with the agency’s profitability, and be alert to opportunities to build additional business from Clients. Control costs, such as account handling expenses, write-offs, and other un-billable areas associated with running the business
Guide, advise, assist, and stimulate all team members with the explicit goal of developing the agency’s account management talent. Take action on underperforming individuals in a proactive respectful manner. Make recommendations on salary, promotions and account rotations to the GAD. Consult with HR as appropriate
Participate in and contribute to new business activities of the agency as required.
 

Requirements:

BA required, MBA potential plus; prefer strong liberal arts background, or a concentration in liberal arts for advertising/marketing majors. 8-10 years of agency (preferred) or related communication industry experience that provides an understanding of advertising, marketing, media, creative, production, research, direct marketing, agency, finance, etc. Financial services experience a plus.
