Janet Northen, Partner / EVP, Director of Agency Communications

Janet Northen was one of the first to apply strategic corporate communications to build agency brands. She was The Martin Agency’s first director of agency communications and held the same post years later at Fallon McElligott. She also served as a consultant to agencies eager to build awareness in the marketing community, including Bozell, Berlin Cameron, GSD&M, Merkley Newman, MC Saatchi and others. In 1999, she joined McKinney as the agency’s first director of communications. In addition to “marketing McKinney’s marketing” and building a vast network of contacts and friendships within the national ad trade press and industry associations, Janet has helped pioneer a new kind of PR for integrated marketing communications programs. Her work for McKinney and Audi’s groundbreaking The Art of the H3ist earned both agency and client international media attention for its ability to create a new kind of conversation between a brand and its best prospects.
